Roberto Calamita is Head of the Trade Marks Group. He joined the firm in 1985. He graduated from the University of Oxford where he obtained an honours degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry). He obtained a distinction in the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary College, University of London. He has a substantial trade mark practice with experience of handling international portfolios, and also handles patent work in a number of chemical fields. Major trade mark clients operate in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, lighting, clothing, publishing and media, telecommunications and financial services. He works extensively for trade mark clients in the United Kingdom and overseas, particularly Japan. He is a member of ECTA and he frequently attends INTA, ECTA and PTMG. Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney, Registered Trade Mark Agent, MITMA.
